Forest Policy Research (FPR) is an information clearinghouse news service. FPR is also dedicated to facilitating the networking, recruiting and sharing of skills among environmental activists. FPR has a networking center for activists and educators, which is located at Media Island International in Olympia, WA. (USA)
FPR was founded in 2005 by Pacific Northwest forest activist Deane Rimerman. Since 1991, Deane has been an avid advocate for protecting and restoring ecosystems in Washington, Oregon and N. California forest-based communities.
Over the course of 480 editions, FPR has produced and distributed electronic information about forest issues in every country in the world. In the past year FPR has converted this email based resource into a multi-media social network website, which features detailed satellite maps, as well as a 15,000 article data-base.

In 2010 Forest Policy Research will turn it’s audio / video recording studios into a roaming mobile studio and classroom. Also in 2010 FPR will convert it’s website into a cell-phone based online global community reporting and discussion forum.
