Editor’s Bio: Deane Rimerman is a 40 year-old international forest defender in Olympia, Washington. He got started in the Redwood forests of the Santa Cruz mountains in the early 1990’s working on litigation related to old growth redwood logging on private lands.

Deane also spent time successfully saving forests on public lands in Western Oregon, as well as being active in forest activism in Northern California and British Columbia. Currently Deane is actualizing his recently earned Master’s in Public Administration degree with a new region-wide organizing project called Activism Technology.  He’s been editor of Forest Policy Research, also know as Earth Tree News for the past 4 years.
