Zambia: More forests to be gazzeted!

The Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources plans to gazzete nine
new forests to enhance protection of forests in Zambia. Tourism
Minister, Catherine Namugala however said the move will not yield
results if illegal settlements in the forests are not checked.

She has directed the forestry department to urgently curb illegal settlements.
Ms. Namugala called for innovative strategies to help enhance
conservation of natural resources. Shae said in the capital Lusaka
that there is need for community participation in conservation of
natural resources.
